On September 18-19, 2017, a training on "The principle activities for an action plan for regional development" was held in the city of Slavgorod, Mogilev region.
The training aimed at the elaboration of the main activities for the action plan for pilot region’s development. The event was attended by representatives of five districts of Mogilev region: Slavgorod, Krasnopolie, Cherikov, Klichev, Bykhov districts.
This event was a continuation of a series of trainings on the development of a strategic plan for regional development on the path to sustainable development of the region. At the beginning of the training, the results of the already held activities of the project were summed up: strategic planning, SWOT analysis and vision of the development of the region, after which, the participants started working closely on the five identified priority areas for the development of the pilot region.
For each priority, the districts identified key outcomes to be achieved in each area and identified activities that will help to achieve the expected results. For all measures, indicators for 2017, 2020 and 2025, necessary resources for 2020 and key participants were registered.
As the result of the training the image of the pilot region desired future and priorities for achieving this image were formed, which will be used during the development of a joint regional action plan that will help in elaboration of major long-term development projects for participation in competitions to attract external resources.
The event was held in the framework of the project "Networking and Strategic Planning of Development of the Mogilev Region Depressed Rural Areas", implemented by the International Foundation for Rural Development in partnership with the Slavgorod, Krasnopolie, Cherikov, Klichev and Bykhov district Executive Committees and Mogilev Region Deputy Councils. This project is implemented with the cooperation of Belarus Support Programme (SPB). The Belarus Support Programme is implemented by the Dortmund International Educational Center (IBB Dortmund) on behalf of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
