Since October 3, 2017 in the Bykhov district a series of working meetings aimed at preparing regional projects, which will be presented by the representatives of local communities at the Fair of Regional Initiatives, was launched in Bykhov on October 23 in Mogilev Region.
The purpose of the Fair is presentation of the regional initiatives developed by the representatives from five districts of the Mogilev region (pilot region) aimed at improving of the sustainability of development (economy, ecology, energy efficiency, etc.). The fair will be a kind of result of two years of work on mobilization and increasing the potential of the local community to actively participate in the management of local development processes.
Working meetings are held in five directions: (1) hosting events and tourism development (2) improving the business climate for employment growth and self-employment of rural youth, (3) climate change mitigation, the area of integrated waste management in cities, (4) protected areas and use of their potential for regional development, (5) education in the interests in sustainable development for all generations.
The result of the working meetings will be an increase in the capacity of representatives of local communities in the development and presentation of regional projects in five districts of Mogilev region aimed at improving local development and the level of the well-being of the population.
The event was held in the framework of the project "Networking and Strategic Planning of Development of the Mogilev Region Depressed Rural Areas", implemented by the International Foundation for Rural Development in partnership with the Slavgorod, Krasnopolie, Cherikov, Klichev and Bykhov district Executive Committees and Mogilev Region Deputy Councils. This project is implemented with the cooperation of Belarus Support Programme (SPB). The Belarus Support Programme is implemented by the Dortmund International Educational Center (IBB Dortmund) on behalf of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
